American Psychological Association (APA)
With approximately 159,000 members, the APA is the largest scientific and professional psychology organization in the world. Not bad when you consider that it was founded in the home of G. Stanley Hall with 7 members in 1892.

American Psychological Society (APS)
Developed to address the needs of psychologists that work in applied settings, the mission of the APS is: "To promote, protect, and advance the interests of scientifically oriented psychology in research, application, and the improvement of human welfare."
